God has touched my life so poignantly and I am undeserving of it. I used to consider myself a good person, but
that is beside the point. The point is that when we are children we hear a voice inside telling us right from wrong.
When we chose to do that which we know is wrong we have committed a crime, called sin. I used to tell myself that I
didn't know any better. But then I think back to a circumstance as a child stealing a dinosaur-shaped
soap bar after being told by my mother that I was not allowed to have it. Whether or not I knew it was right or
wrong to steal it from the store I deliberatley followed through because my mother told me no. That was going
against her will. That is the first circumstance I can remember that started a whirlwind of sin.
Regardless of what the particulars are, God finds all sins equal. Adults grow numb to the callings of right and
wrong, unless someone or something changes that course of action. But what if there was one act so great in history
that even though thousands of years passed people would still recall it? There is such a thing and it's power is
no less dulled. That is, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God became human through his son Jesus
Christ and died on a cross to pay for our sins. He is the just judge and must stay true to his adversity to sin.
Therefore, his one and only son he sent to die a tortorous death so that all would remember the love of the Father
our God. His resurrection symbolizes the victory over sin and over Satan. The forgivence we are given
through his blood is amazing. All of the sins ever commited are forgiven after realizing the majesty of Jesus and turning
away from all forms of life before knowing Christ Jesus. Not only do we escape from the wrath of God in hell but we
are promised as faithful followers of Jesus to have ever-lasting life.
So who am I? I am a grateful and humble follower of Jesus Christ. My identity, my everything exists in Him.
Nothing else can touch me as deeply. Nothing else can love me more. Nothing else can give me greater peace of
mind. Nothing else can give me hope more than temporary in this life on earth. Nothing else can give me eternal
joy. Nothing else can give me faith in a more just and righteous truth. In the promises of His word I rely, rest,
and remain for all of my life.
